Qualco Live returns to the home of the Harlequins

QUALCO |

Qualco UK’s interactive event returns on Thursday 6thJune to the home of rugby union club Harlequins RFC. Qualco Live at The Stoop will offer a series of incisive sessions, which will explore the link between mental health and financial hardship.

Cabinet Office deputy director, Steven Coppard is confirmed as the keynote speaker.Steven heads up Cross Government Debt Policy & Strategy in the Cabinet Office and has worked on government debt for 18 years. He started as a collector on the phones in HM Customs & Excise, before moving into HMRC's debt transformation programme and then on to commercial management of private sector debt contracts.

A panel of consumer debt experts, including Nationwide’s money advice liaison manager Gareth McNab, will debate the industry’s response to calls for a more responsible approach to collecting on problem debt accounts. Clients including British Gas will also join the day’s agenda, in addition to a lively debate on the new generation of collections.

The Stoop offers a unique backdrop for Qualco’s live event, in keeping with previous sporting venue choices Mercedes-Benz World and Fulham FC. The seismic changes rugby union has experienced since turning professional in 1995 bear a striking similarity to the evolving landscape of the UK credit industry during the last 10-15 years. Harlequins director of rugby Billy Millard has steered the Club during this period of change and will offer delegates a rare insight into the business world of rugby.

Marc Leckie, head of foundation at Harlequins will also speak at the event. He will provide insight on their work in the community and the positive impact it has had both on and off the pitch.

Delegates will also enjoy a look behind the scenes at The Stoop, including an extraordinary changing room experience to immerse themselves in a real match-day environment. The event also offers plenty of opportunities to network with fellow professionals, and a wine tasting session to end the day.

Qualco UK’s managing director, Christian Jacob, commented:“The team always looks forward to Qualco Live. It is a great opportunity to catch up with clients and colleagues in an informal setting. We always try to offer some unusual and insightful content to help kick-start creating thinking amongst our audience, and we are delighted to welcome speakers from multi-industries in helping us to do that.”
