9th Greece Race for the Cure on Sunday 01 October 2017
The Hellenic Association of Women with Breast Cancer “Alma Zois” in collaboration with the Organization of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® organizes every year the 5 km race, as well as a 2 km walk with the aim of sensitizing the disease.
Last Sunday, more than 35,500 runners participated at 9th Greece Run for the Cure and the city center flooded from people in pink, the color associated with the fight against breast cancer, from all over the country.
Congratulations to our 21-member team that ran to support this special annual initiative against Breast Cancer. It was, once again, an amazing experience for all of us to be part of this of this celebration of joy and emotion!
Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® Series is the world’s largest and most successful education and fundraising event for breast cancer ever created.
First organized in 1983, after the promise of Nancy Brinker to her dying sister that she would do everything she could to end breast cancer forever, the Komen Race for the Cure Series has grown from one Race with 800 people in Dallas to a global series of more than 150 Races with over 1 million people participating on four continents.
